How should the plant-based whipping cream be stored? In the Fridge. You should not freeze Becel Plant-based Whipping Cream unless you’re using it to make ice cream.
How long does the cream last after it’s been opened? 5 Days if refrigerated between use.
What is the shelf life? The shelf like is 9 months from the time it is manufactured. Each pack will state the use by date.
Should Becel Plant-Based Whipping Cream be whipped chilled or at room temperature? Becel Plant-Based Whipping Cream should always be kept chilled in the fridge. For best whipping results, please ensure Becel Plant-Based Whipping Cream has been chilled for at least four hours in the fridge so it is cold.
How long should it take to whip? 4-5 minutes with an electric mixer and within seconds in a whipped cream charger.
What should the plant-based cream taste like without any added ingredients like sugar and vanilla when preparing? Our plant-based cream has a very neutral taste, but it contains a small amount of sugar to replicate the natural sweetness and taste of dairy. If you are making whipped cream, we suggest adding a sweetener like maple syrup, powdered sugar, or simple syrup like you would when making whipped cream with dairy whipping cream. We recommend adding 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar or maple syrup per 2 cups of Becel Plant-Based Whipping Cream when making whipped cream.
Should you shake the container before you whip it? No! If you shake the container, it could begin to whip the plant-based cream in the package making it harder to pour.
Can you put the cream in coffee? We do not recommend you use our plant-based cream as a half & half or coffee creamer substitute in coffee. However, you can use our plant-based cream to make whipped cream and top your coffee!
How does it work with heat in cooking? Our plant-based cream performs well when used in hot recipes. You can use it to make soups, savory pasta sauces, quiches, etc. It won't curdle in high heat, and you can even add wine or an acid like lemon juice to make sauces without any problems.
Can you use it to make ice cream? Yes, it makes great ice cream.
Can the cream be frozen? No, you should not freeze Becel Plant-Based Whipping Cream unless you’re using it to make ice cream.
